Top Menu & Mobile Sheet

📢 - INFO

This page describes the top toolbar on desktop and the sliding menu sheet on phones — the two entry points for every StolWRX action (load flight, upload photos, share, export, sign out, etc.).

Desktop Top Toolbar

The toolbar across the top of the page is split into three dropdowns, each grouped by what it acts on:

Waypoints dropdown

Identified by a waypoint icon. Contains everything related to your points database:

  • Show / hide waypoint table — toggles the slide-out panel listing all waypoints (your own + any shared with you).
  • Import GPX — opens a file picker for a .gpx file. Imported waypoints are merged with your cloud set. Paid plan only.
  • Export GPX — downloads the current waypoints as a .gpx file.

Flight tracks dropdown

Identified by a squiggle-line icon. Contains actions that act on flight logs:

  • Show / hide flight track table — toggles the flights panel listing every flight currently loaded (local + cloud).
  • Load flight track — opens a file picker for .csv, .kml, or .kmz. Parses the file and adds the track to the map. Paid plan only.
  • Load geotagged photos — opens a multi-select file picker for photos. StolWRX reads each image's GPS EXIF and attaches it to the nearest point on one of your saved flights. A progress badge next to the icon shows upload status. Requires a saved flight in the cloud. See Batch Upload.

Tools dropdown

Identified by a wrench icon. Contains global toggles, sharing, billing, and sign-out:

  • Runway length unit — switch between m and ft. Applies to everything that displays a runway length.
  • Climb gradient unit — switch between % and ft/NM. Applies to the runway wheel's climb-gradient button, the info pill, and the climb gradient field in the waypoint edit dialog. The gradient itself is always stored as a percentage internally; only the display changes.
  • Flight path measure — activates the measuring tool. Click any point on a flight track and StolWRX shows the distance to the selected waypoint along the flight path (not straight-line). Requires at least one flight and one waypoint loaded. Shown as an amber ring when active.
  • Share flight track publicly — generates a public link for the currently loaded flights you own. See Sharing Flights. Paid plan only.
  • Manage subscription / Upgrade — opens the Stripe billing portal if you're a paid subscriber, or the pricing page if you're on the free plan. See Subscription & Billing.
  • Terms & conditions — opens the terms dialog.
  • Sign out — signs you out of StolWRX.

📌 - TIP

The highlighted ring around the Tools button means one of its tools is active (currently, the measure tool). Click the same menu item again to deactivate.

Free Plan Banner

Free-plan users see an amber banner under the toolbar explaining that upload, waypoint creation, photo upload, and sharing are locked. A one-click Upgrade link in the banner routes you straight to pricing.

Mobile Menu Sheet

On narrow screens (phones), the toolbar dropdowns collapse into a single Menu button in the header that opens a slide-in sheet. The sheet contains everything from the three desktop dropdowns in a single vertical list, organised into groups:

  1. Waypoints — Import GPX, Export GPX.
  2. Flights — Load flight track, Load geotagged photos.
  3. Tools — Runway-length switch, Flight path measure, Share publicly, Manage subscription / Upgrade, Terms & conditions, Sign out.

Each item works identically to its desktop counterpart. Disabled items (free plan, nothing to export, etc.) are greyed out with the same rules.

Mobile Tab Bar

On phones, under the sheet menu, a tab strip lets you switch between the three main panes:

  • Map — the Cesium 3D view full-screen.
  • Flights — the full flights table.
  • Waypoints — the full waypoints table.

Desktop users don't see this bar — both tables slide in as side panels over the map instead.

Sign-In State

If you're not signed in, the top nav on the landing page has Pricing, Sign in, and a prominent Get started button instead of the action toolbar.
