Subscription & Billing ​

StolWRX bills through Stripe. All invoices, receipts, and payment methods live in the Stripe-hosted billing portal. StolWRX itself never stores your card details.

Opening the Portal ​

For paid subscribers, use Tools menu → Manage subscription. StolWRX opens a short-lived Stripe portal session in a new tab.

For free-plan users, the same button is labelled Upgrade and sends you to the checkout flow instead.

What You Can Do in the Portal ​

From the Stripe portal you can:

  • See your current plan and the next billing date.
  • Update your payment method (card, wallet).
  • Download invoices and receipts.
  • Cancel your subscription. Access to paid features persists until the end of the current billing period; after that your account drops back to the free tier.

After Canceling ​

Canceling does not delete any of your flights, waypoints, or photos — they stay in the cloud. But on the free plan, you can no longer:

  • Upload new flights.
  • Create new waypoints.
  • Upload track photos.
  • Generate new share links.

Existing share links continue to work as long as the underlying flight is still in your account.

To resume, re-subscribe from the Upgrade button. Your old data is immediately available again.

Changing Plans ​

StolWRX currently has a single paid tier. If more tiers are added, you'll be able to switch between them from the Stripe portal (charges prorated automatically).

Billing Portal Return ​

After you close the Stripe portal, StolWRX's /billing-portal-return page redirects you back to the main analysis view. If you made a plan change, the app re-fetches your subscription state so the UI immediately reflects paid/free.

Troubleshooting ​

  • Paid but still seeing the free banner? Refresh the page. The checkout-success webhook usually updates your account within a few seconds; occasionally a page refresh is needed to pick up the new state.
  • Portal button greyed out? It means StolWRX doesn't have a Stripe customer ID on file for your account. That's normal if you've never subscribed. Click Upgrade to start a checkout instead.
